The idea to get notified about new Twitch channels comes from @Mike Chambers https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/iiljidcefnbhbpamageahhblhbbhhopm
Twitch live Monitor also offers the possibility to be notified in real time when one of your 50 favorite streamers goes online on Twitch, everything about it is queried in a 2min interval. This is possible with the PubSub interface from Twitch (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/pubsub)
