Don’t be fooled by fake news. Get Avast News Companion to check your sources for biases and factual reporting.
With Avast News Companion, you can easily and quickly check how accurate and balanced your favorite news sites are. It alerts you when sites have a known political bias, which range from Left to Right, and we'll also tell you about scientific, satiric, and questionable sources.
With this extension you’ll be sure to know the truth behind what you read. Avast News Companion uses algorithms that analyze factual reporting, and verify the statements from the articles against fact-checking databases. Based on that you’ll get alerted about misleading claims or incorrect news.
The extension can also identify conspiracies and propaganda, so you know you're reading the truth.

This extension collects info about:
- Which parts of the extension you click on and the order that you click on them. This helps us understand which features you like best.
- The ratings you give us for each article (on whether or not the info was helpful). This helps us make sure the extension works properly.
- The newspaper pages you’re reading. This provides the info to show you your reading habits and insights. We'll never collect info about other browsing habits (like shopping or streaming).
